Singapore death registration
A death is automatically registered when a doctor certifies it online. Relatives provide the deceased’s identification document to the doctor or hospital; they do not need a registration-counter visit. At home, engage a doctor to certify the death. Registration and the digital certificate are free. The deceased’s NRIC is invalidated automatically.

Specified next of kin or their authorised person download from LifeSG using the certificate/confirmation number, deceased’s identification number and death date. Download within 30 days and save the file; after that window an extract incurs a separate fee. When the system is unavailable, the doctor’s Confirmation of Death supports the related funeral arrangements until online certification is completed.
