Key requirements
CARF covers relevant crypto-assets, reporting service providers, transaction data and due diligence to identify users and tax residence. Reporting Singapore crypto-asset service providers will register with IRAS and submit annual prescribed transaction information. The source records enactment of the 2026 CARF regulations and publication of the corresponding e-Tax Guide. Information exchange starting in 2028 is not the same as every provider’s registration or collection deadline, so consult the detailed implementation timetable. Assess the business’s actual activities and Singapore nexus, then prepare user documentation and data systems. CARF is a transparency reporting framework, not a new universal tax rate on cryptocurrency gains.
