Which wage measure to use
The flyer distinguishes basic-wage ladders for cleaning, security, landscape and lift/escalator work from gross-wage ladders for retail, food services, waste management, administrators and drivers. Gross wage can include allowances and commissions, while applicable overtime must satisfy both Employment Act and PWM requirements.
The employer’s action list
Pay eligible resident employees at least the applicable PWM amount, meet training requirements and keep occupational/employment information updated through MOM’s dataset. The wage obligation does not wait until the employee has completed training. Employers hiring foreign workers must also comply with the relevant PWM/LQS requirements for work-pass applications and renewals.
Support and recognition
The edition describes PWCS co-funding for qualifying lower-wage employees receiving at least a S$100 qualifying monthly increase, and encourages eligible employers to apply for the PW Mark. Funding years and co-funding rates follow the current IRAS scheme, while the required wage amount follows the relevant role and effective date.
