Document period and use
This article explains the 2017 document. Its original dates, wage figures and examples are retained as historical context; later orders and wage schedules take precedence for subsequent payroll periods.
Wage increases and removal of exemption
The 2017 report proposed fixed-dollar wage increases from 2019 to 2021, followed by at least 3% annually from 2022 to 2024 subject to review. It recommended ending overtime exemption from 1 January 2021 to move away from 12-hour, six-day rosters that could produce around 95 monthly overtime hours. Agencies and buyers were urged to redesign shifts and contracts before implementation.
Job differentials and historical schedule
The review discusses sensible min–max salary ratios, skills and progression so experienced officers are not permanently held at entry floors. The figures below are the original proposed years and were later revised.
