Consultation reimbursement
After 3 months’ service, an Employment Act employer pays consultation fees where the visit results in at least one paid sick day and the MC comes from a public institution or company-appointed doctor. Public/community hospitals, national specialty centres and public ambulatory surgical centres count. Contracts may offer broader benefits. Illness on public holidays, annual leave, rest or non-working days creates no statutory paid sick leave or consultation reimbursement for those days. Cosmetic procedures are excluded unless policy covers them.
Rate of salary
Paid hospitalisation leave is at gross rate. Paid outpatient leave is gross rate excluding shift allowance. For a monthly shift allowance, discuss whether it continues with the employer and union.
