What the release reports
Inspections of more than 530 workplaces in May 2021 resulted in fines for eleven firms that failed to make home working the default for suitable jobs.
Details and conditions
Onsite manpower declarations did not permit otherwise remote-capable staff to attend. Essential onsite activity required staggered hours and meals, masks and other then-applicable safeguards.
Context and follow-up
The report is historical COVID enforcement. Employers were accountable for actual arrangements, not merely the declared headcount; the publication should not be read as a permanent universal work-from-home mandate.
Official source
This report is independently written from the MOM release dated above. Case status, policy announcements and historical figures refer to that release.
