Retirement and CPF amendments: ages and savings procedures

MOM publication date:

What the release reports

The 2021 Bills enable retirement and re-employment ages to reach 65 and 70 by 2030. The first move sets ages 63 and 68 from July 2022.

Details and conditions

CPF withdrawal ages remain unchanged. Retirement Sum Scheme payouts would continue automatically from other available accounts after Retirement Account depletion.

Context and follow-up

From January 2022, top-up tax-relief limits rise to S$8,000 each for self and loved ones, with MediSave voluntary-contribution rules simplified. These are distinct from the employment-age changes; the source links scheme-specific details.
