Unlicensed JOBSINSG agency: appeal dismissed

MOM publication date:

What the release reports

Ng Chai Hock received four weeks’ imprisonment and the maximum S$80,000 fine for operating JOBSINSG.COM without a licence. His appeal was dismissed in October 2021.

Details and conditions

Between 2016 and 2017, advertised job opportunities drew applicants to an office where fees up to S$450 bought only résumé distribution.

Context and follow-up

Jobseekers should check MOM’s agency directory and avoid paying before placement. Engaging an unlicensed agency is itself an offence. Labelling a paid recruitment service as résumé distribution did not prevent the licensing conviction.
