What the release reports
The Non-Traditional Source occupation list starts on 1 September 2023, with nine roles after adding licensed-hotel housekeepers and porters. It addresses hard-to-fill jobs alongside S Pass changes.
Details and conditions
Eligible Indian restaurants can seek approval before applying through WPOL for cooks from India, Bangladesh or Sri Lanka. A panel assesses restaurant eligibility.
Context and follow-up
Employers face an eight-percent sub-quota and at least S$2,000 fixed monthly pay. Workers may perform only the occupation on their permit. The eight percent excludes EP holders from the workforce denominator; fixed pay includes basic salary and fixed allowances. The original annex lists eligible occupations and source countries.
