Announcement and status
C1EA key appointment holder Lee Peck Li received four weeks’ imprisonment on 25 August 2023 for conspiring to make a false work-pass declaration; another false-statement charge was considered. He was barred from the agency industry.
Case details and examples
An overseas agent referred Li Guiyu, who intended to find her own odd jobs. Lee expected future commissions and submitted a permit application naming a Liquidlab sales job despite knowing neither party intended employment. Li arrived in October 2021, performed no work for Liquidlab and was arrested in November for vice activities. She received a warning, was repatriated and barred from work.
Official advisory and follow-up
The release warns agencies and employers to provide complete truthful information, citing up to S$20,000 or two years or both for false declarations. Future referral income is no justification for an invented placement.
