Announcement and status
The Manpower Minister instructed POFMA correction directions on 20 August 2023 concerning a TikTok video posted by “dr.ishhaq.jay” on August 12. MOM identified as false its universal claim that no low- or middle-income CPF member who used CPF for an HDB loan had met the Basic or Full Retirement Sum.
Case details and examples
The creator was required to publish a correction notice and link to the Government clarification; TikTok was required to notify Singapore users who accessed the post. A targeted correction direction addresses the platform so viewers of the falsehood also see the correction.
Official advisory and follow-up
This release records correction measures, not an EFMA employment prosecution or an individual retirement prediction. It links the Government’s Factually clarification, retained below. Readers should assess a specific CPF situation from the official policy and account facts rather than the video’s blanket assertion.
