Individual Tax Notices: Search, Download and Portal Limits

A complete explanation of searching and downloading individual notices, including four back years and the limits on deleting, forwarding or marking unread.

Source checked · 11 October 2026 · Document date: 19 Feb 2025

Search the notices IRAS sent

The individual-notice FAQ of 19 February 2025 uses a search dropdown to choose the notice required. This area shows notices sent by IRAS, not notices that the individual sent to IRAS. The distinction matters when looking for an outgoing response or submission: its absence from this incoming-notice area does not mean it was never sent.

History, reading and browser behaviour

The FAQ permits viewing up to four preceding years of notices. PDFs open in a separate tab on supported operating systems even with a pop-up blocker enabled. Where a PDF reader is needed, the document points to an Adobe Reader version suitable for the device. These instructions address access to notice documents rather than changing the assessment recorded in them.

Select and download notices

For a few notices, tick their individual checkboxes and download the selection. To select every notice on the displayed page, use the checkbox next to the PDF-notice heading. This page-level selection is not a statement that every historical notice in the account has been selected.

Restrictions after reading

The portal does not permit deleting these notices, reverting a read item to unread or forwarding it to another party within myTax Portal. A read notice remains marked as read. Keep downloaded copies if a separate record is needed; the PDF does not describe a portal archiving or forwarding feature.
