Date and context
Issued 4 February 2022, this advisory addressed Omicron-related short-term absences. Its 72-hour testing/isolation and vaccinated Day-7 rules were specific to that period, not current standing health requirements. The operational planning recommendations below remain a useful dated example.
All continuity measures
Identify critical functions and split teams; cross-train replacements; consider testing and isolation under then-applicable rules; stay in touch with absent staff; follow contemporary SMMs; agree leave/salary policies and consult unions if suspending operations; set absence triggers; prepare remote equipment/temporary hiring; explain service delays to customers; and follow sector guidance. Essential-service Part 4 employers could seek overtime exemptions, while protecting health and rewarding additional work. MOM/MOH online enquiries, NTUC [email protected] and SNEF [email protected] were listed contacts.
