What the release reports
Kay Siew Hwa and Woon Meng Fatt each received six weeks for a false domestic-worker application. Kay was also fined S$9,000 for another illegal hire.
Details and conditions
A worker intended for K2 Guesthouse was registered under Woon as a domestic helper, supported by a caregiving appeal. She instead worked at the guesthouse for about a year.
Context and follow-up
The worker was separately jailed and barred from future Singapore employment. A domestic permit cannot substitute for an appropriate commercial-work pass; applications and caregiving representations must reflect genuine arrangements.
