Address-update failures: 175 companies fined

MOM publication date:

What the release reports

Over two years, 175 companies were fined more than S$1.1 million for failing to update 960 pass holders’ addresses despite reminders. Individual fines ranged from S$500 to S$2,000.

Details and conditions

Employers must report residential changes through OFWAS within five days of relocation. Accurate addresses support communication and emergency or public-health tracing.

Context and follow-up

Workers should tell employers about self-arranged moves, while employers retain reporting responsibility. The release warns that breach of pass conditions can bring further prosecution; keeping internal records alone does not update MOM’s system.
