What the release reports
The February 2023 interim report proposed twenty recommendations, retaining tripartite guidelines while adding legislation against common discrimination. A month-long consultation followed.
Details and conditions
Proposals cover protected traits, recruitment through dismissal, fair advertising, anti-retaliation and initial small-firm exemptions. Internal grievances and TADM mediation precede tribunal adjudication.
Context and follow-up
The report proposed up to S$5,000 for recruitment claims and S$20,000 or S$30,000 for employment or dismissal claims depending on union assistance, alongside non-monetary remedies. These were interim proposals, revised through the final report and later Bills; they are not the later tribunal threshold.
