What the release reports
The revised framework uses WBGT bands below 31°C, 31–below 33°C and at least 33°C, separating mandatory measures from recommended practices.
Details and conditions
New or returning workers need gradual heat exposure over at least seven days. Hourly monitoring, hydration, shaded recovery and emergency procedures are central. Heavy work requires at least ten minutes’ hourly rest from WBGT 32°C, and fifteen minutes from 33°C.
Context and follow-up
Large construction sites of at least S$5 million, shipyards and process workplaces require onsite meters; other workplaces can use myENV. Employers must consider medically vulnerable workers and suitable redeployment. The original table identifies which measures are mandatory in each band.
Heavy-work minimum hourly breaks
| WBGT | Break |
|---|---|
| 32–below 33°C | 10 minutes |
| 33°C or more | 15 minutes |
