Workright: know your employment rights

Education and employment-law compliance

MOM and CPF Board launched Workright in 2012 to improve awareness and compliance with the Employment Act and CPF Act. Campaigns include media and neighbourhood roadshows; inspections check workplace compliance. Employee topics include KETs, itemised pay slips and timely salary/overtime payment. The employment-law guide is available in English, Mandarin, Malay and Tamil; migrant-worker videos, posters and stickers cover Bengali, English, Mandarin and Tamil.

Employer resources and reporting

The employer toolkit explains six compliance steps and KET requirements/common observations, alongside salary/overtime calculation, CPF and bilingual KET/pay-slip samples. Report non-compliance through the Employment Act violation service, MOM feedback/enquiry, or 6438 5122; the source states that the reporter’s identity is confidential.

Verify an inspection and prepare records

A scheduled inspection is notified by post. Inspectors have authority cards and MOM at 6438 5122 can verify identity. Inspectors do not request transfers or bank-login details by phone/email; ScamShield’s 24-hour line is 1799. Complete the Workright inspection annexes before the appointment. Physical inspections require paper documents on the day; digital inspections require soft copies emailed to [email protected] at least three working days, Monday–Friday, beforehand.
